APPII launches Covid-19 test verification passport

APPII, the UK-based digital verification technology company, has today announced its partnership with McKesson Group’s MASTA, (Medical Advisory Services for Travellers Abroad), and Coforge to launch the first-of-its-kind, fully integrated, end-to-end, digitally verified COVID-19 test, underpinned by EMIS technology.

From today, APPII customers can book, pay for and store COVID-19 PCR tests results. Tests can be booked at eight MASTA travel clinics nationally, with the service due to expand to over 200 LloydsPharmacys UK-wide branches over the coming weeks.

Individual test results and QR code certificates are verified and safely stored in the APPII mobile app, iiPass, ensuring customers have secure, digital access to results. The QR code results can then be scanned by organisations to determine the individual’s test status and whether iiPass users can continue with their desired activity, paving the way to safely unlock the UK economy.

iiPass also provides unique fraud prevention assurance compared to self-attestation services on the market. Users can conveniently upload a selfie and photo of an identity document (passport or drivers’ licence) which is processed by leading biometric identity provider GBG plc.

Gary McKay, managing director and co-founder at APPII said: “Security and trust are at the heart of APPII’s iiPass Covid-19 app. Through our partnerships with some of the UK’s most trusted and accredited service providers, we have developed an affordable, simple, and fully verifiable testing solution, that can be used by businesses, governments, and the public alike. Our biometric identity checks make the test results in our app the safest on the market, with the possibility for fraudulent results eliminated.

“Organisations of all sizes can rest assured that the QR codes they scan in the iiPass app have been rigorously verified with leading identity technology, so cannot be copied, or passed on to multiple users. In other words, we guarantee the individual is who their QR says they are.

“Our partnership with MASTA means these tests and trusted results will be available across the UK to those who need it most – from key workers to struggling industries. As we move to reinstate international travel and increase vaccination rates, our solution can also be harnessed to provide secure vaccine certification. It’s clear we will be living with this virus for years to come so there’s an urgent need for innovation and technology that facilitates the safe return to more normal daily life. At APPII, it’s our mission to be part of this solution, and to provide the systems and infrastructures that help the UK economy back on its feet, as well as getting us back to doing the things we love.”
